Select and Edit a Chapter's Cover Image

Chapter Cover images determine which image is used in the player Chapter Menu. Verse will automatically select an image from your video as a Chapter Cover but you can replace it with your own custom image.

Default Cover Images

  • Video Chapter: Verse will select an image from the video to serve as the poster frame.
  • Slideshow Chapter: By default, the first image uploaded to a slideshow will become the cover image.
  • Pathfinder Chapter: Verse will select an image from the video to serve as the poster frame.
  • Explainer Chapter: Verse will select an image from the video to serve as the poster frame.

Upload a Cover Image

To change the cover image, select “[Chapter Type] Chapter Settings” pane on the right side of the window. For example, for a Video Chapter, you'll find this under "Video Chapter Settings".

If you haven't uploaded any media to your Chapter and/or no default Cover Image has been generated, you'll see the following:

If a Cover Image already exists for this Chapter, you'll see the following:

In either case, click "Select Image" to select a new Cover Image.

Pressing the “Select Image” button will open the Media Library. From here you can either select an image that’s already been uploaded or press the “Upload Media” button to upload a file from your computer. Verse accepts JPG, PNG, and GIF image formats.

Edit a Cover Image's Focal Point

If you’d like to recenter your image, select “Edit Focal Point.”

The “Configure Image” window will appear. Drag the red crosshairs to the area that you want as the center of the image.

The changes will then automatically update, and the video will be repositioned accordingly.
